Past President 2012-2017
Currently: Medical Student at UofA - Phoenix
Degree: Master's of Biomedical Engineering
ASU BME Experience: Currently a first-year medical student at the University of Arizona - Phoenix with aspirations of becoming a physician and improving the standard of healthcare in my community. Prior to med school, I served as a Co-President of AEMB for four years. I worked to develop a non-invasive blood glucose monitoring device in Dr. Jeffery La Belle’s lab as my graduate thesis, obtaining a publication on the advanced technical research performed. I also served as a teaching assistant for the senior capstone design class. I worked under Dr. Drake Duane at the Developmental Discovery Center for over two years. There, I administered cognitive, neurological, and psychiatric testing to patients with developmental disorders. Along with these responsibilities, I also served as the referral coordinator for the practice. During the Summer of 2012, I interned directly for Governor Janice Brewer and her senior staff members. I have also completed over 4,000 hours of community service, and have been awarded the US Presidential Lifetime Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama (2011) and the US President’s Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush (2008).
